The New Brunswick Chiropractors Association is pleased to host the 2017 Atlantic Chiropractic Convention and Tradeshow at the Crowne Plaza in Fredericton NB on October 28th and 29th 2017. The 2017 Atlantic Chiropractic Convention will host two exciting and renowned Canadian speakers for both chiropractors and chiropractic health assistants:

Concussion, Neck Pain and Headaches: An Evidence-Informed Approach for Chiropractors

Dr. Shawn Thistle is a chiropractor, speaker, knowledge-transfer leader, entrepreneur and medico-legal consultant. He is Founder and CEO of RRS Education, a continuing education company providing weekly Research Reviews, informative Seminars and convenient Online Courses for chiropractors, physiotherapists and osteopaths around the world. Dr. Thistle also provides expert medico-legal reporting in chiropractic malpractice cases and lectures part-time at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in the Orthopedics Department.


This clinically-relevant program features a combination of important and related topics for chiropractors. Saturday will feature an informative session on contemporary concepts in concussion assessment and management. Case discussions and practical demonstrations of simple vestibular rehabilitation techniques will be integrated to enhance your clinical acumen. Then, we will explore the complex interplay between cervical spine function, head trauma, dizziness, and vertigo, emphasizing clinical decision making and best practices for patient care. 

Sunday will begin with a balanced overview of the research on stroke and neck manipulation, including policy and practice implications, as well as productive patient communication strategies. We will finish the weekend with an informative discussion on our state of knowledge about the etiology of the major headache classifications (migraine, cervicogenic and tension-type), as well as a review of the quality of existing research literature on clinical management.

Chiropractic health assistants will learn how to maximize their career, more effectively communicate with others, enhance the patient experience through the delivery of service excellence, and leverage business etiquette to build successful relationships to improve the quality of service and professionalism.

This workshop will introduce key principles and practical techniques that will enable chiropractic health assistants to enhance their professional presence, create a foundation of professionalism, and demonstrate leadership qualities.  It will also provide a valuable learning experience and practical strategies to enable participants to move with ease and confidence, build a professional image in-line with the values of their clinic/organization, and enhance their “people skills” in order to form effective connections and establish trust with others.
